Kathmandu – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that no act to destabilize social harmony in the name of religion, culture or partisan debate was acceptable.
Prime Minister Oli said so in a message today from his bed at the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre in the Institute of Medicine (IoM), Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH). The Prime Minister is undergoing treatment for chest infection at the centre.
In his message, Prime Minister Oli said that he was aware and sensitive to the incidents taking place in some parts of the country. The Prime Minister has cautioned all that the mega campaign of prosperity and road to development could be damaged by criminal acts aimed at ending peace and order, while adding that riot, hooliganism and violence could pose threat to good governance.
The Prime Minister said that he would return soon from the hospital as per the advice of the doctors and would return to action to fulfill the dream of a prosperous Nepal, expecting continued cooperation and goodwill from the people like in the past.
Likewise, Prime Minister Oli has urged all not to be swayed by the false publicity made in some social sites and digital media about his health, terming them baseless publicity. “I am aware of the sensational publicity made about my health. I request all not to be guided from such false publicity,” he added.
In his message, the Prime Minister has said that he was receiving treatment for seasonal flu and subsequent infection. He has also extended gratitude to the President, the Vice President, leaders of different political parties, representatives of diplomatic missions in Nepal, government officials and all wishing for his health recovery from home and abroad.
Meanwhile, the hospital released a media brief stating that the Prime Minister’s latest health condition was improving. Since the first priority was his recovery by controlling the infection, the hospital has prevented visitors from meeting with the PM.
The hospital said that it cannot entertain the visitors to meet the Prime Minister, though their wish for his speedy recovery was acknowledged.
