Dr Giri’s body reached Devghat

July 9, Chitwan : The dead body of Dr Ramananda Giri has been reached at Devghat this morning. Dr Giri, Peethadhees (patron) of the Devghat based Mahesh Sanyas Ashram (Gurukul) died on Saturday in the capital. Giri was a Sanskrit scholar having mastery in Shankar Vedanta, who had received PhD degree in Janak Darshan (philosophy propounded by Janak, Sage king of Mithila). He had written several religious books in Sanskrit and Nepali languages. He had even translated Shrremadbhagvad (Sanskrit text) into Nepali which is known as Ramanandi Teeka. He was suffering from asthma and pneumonia for long and was undergoing treatment in Kathmandu based Grande hospital. He was 71 years old. The festival, also marked as Teacher's Day, is observed on the full moon day in the Nepali month Ashadh as per the lunar calendar. Worker dies in landslide, woman falls to death

July 8, Gorkha : A manual worker died Saturday after he was buried by a landslide occurred during the road construction at Dharche Rural Municipality -7 in Gorkha. The deceased has been identified as Sukman Moktan, 32, of Bhiyal-5 from Makwanpur district. Farmer compensated for goats killed in lightning strike

July 7, Myagdi : The District Livestock Service Office has compensated a farmer who incurred huge economic losses after his goats were killed in lightning strike at Myagdi's remotest village – Dhaulagiri rural municipality 1 – last year. On August, 15, 2016, lightning strike killed 95 goats at a barn at Gurja's Purano Buki area. The concerned farmer lost Rs 900,000 in the unfortunate incident. Two killed in road mishap in Jhapa

July 4, Jhapa : Two persons were killed in a road accident along the Budhabare-Charali road section in Jhapa district on Tuesday. Identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained.
